The University of Cyprus welcomed the start of the Spring Semester 2016/17 on the 16^th of January 2017. All the residents returned to their rooms, and of course, we geared up to remind them about SAVES.

For about a month now, since the start of the semester, our personnel and our enthusiastic Ambassadors, reminded the residents of the practices for saving energy, with emails, and face to face visits. Especially with the cold weather we are having at the moment (yes it does get cold in Cyprus as well), we thought this is the perfect opportunity to remind students to put on extra layers, instead of turning up the heating.

In an additional effort to keep reminding the residents about practices to save energy, we prepared and placed two entertaining announcements in all common areas of the Student Halls.

Furthermore, on the 8th of February, the second climate quiz of the year has launched, and already gathered 29 views. We are hoping more people will participate until the 17^th of February, that is, the last day of taking part. Finally we are planning on having two more photo competitions, one on the 22^nd of February and the last one on the 15^th of March 2017.

With the SAVES competition coming to an end for this year, we are hoping that this year’s savings will be as good as last year's, if not better!
