The University of Cyprus welcomed the start of this academic year in the beginning of September 2017. All the residents entered their rooms on the 1st of September, and we geared up to inform them about SAVES 2.
All students were given lots of information and promotional material about the competition. Meanwhile, our Resident Assistants are eager to take part in the project, and have already signed up as Ambassadors for the campaign. For about a month now, since the start of the semester, our personnel and our enthusiastic Ambassadors, reminded the residents of the practices for saving energy with emails, and face to face visits.
We’re also very happy and motivated to take part in the program especially since its expanding with students living in the Private Sector! We have prepared advice and information about saving energy practices, compiled a list of private owners to disseminate the advice to their own residents, and gathered the emails of the students living outside our Student Halls.
We are now gearing up to prepare for our Photo Competitions, Ambassadors Training Event and the Energy Training Session for Private Sector Students, all planned in October!
Since we have already passed through SAVES 1 we know pretty much what to expect, so having the previous years’ experience, we are aiming to more excitement, more student involvement, and of course more energy savings! :)
