We are delighted to announce that the Technical University of Crete successfully launched the SAVES 2 campaign in October 2018 for the 2018-19 academic year. Since then, significant events took place, and we will give you a rundown of what has happened!
Firstly, we decided to organize weekly information stalls, in different locations around TUC. To catch the attention of our students, we put up posters and role-up banners with interesting facts and details about SAVES 2. As a result, we managed to sign up many new students to the campaign.
On 10th October 2018, a welcome event for new students was organised by TUC. We made sure that the SAVES 2 team was there to meet and greet the students, and had the opportunity to give a presentation, highlighting the main goals of the campaign. Students fed back that they found our energy saving information interesting, and many more signed up to our SSO and SSO+ newsletters.
At the end of October, a SSO ambassador training was organized with great success; we had the opportunity to meet 6 new student ambassadors and to inform them about the campaign. We gave students advise on energy consumption and how to decrease their energy bills. Students were also informed about the TUC SSO Facebook page and the photo competitions that take place every month. Another ambassador training will be organized before our Christmas holiday.
Our next plans are to create a video with students involved in SSO and SSO+ campaigns at the new dormitories of Technical University of Crete; these opened their doors and started accepting new students at the end of November and look really amazing! Our final plan is to work closely with the radio station of TUC, who are willing to help us create a spot about the campaign. In this spot some students will speak about the project while will encouraging other students with the tips to save energy! Interesting things happen in TUC, so… stay tuned!
