The second semester at University of Sofia (UoS) started at the beginning of February, which means that all students are now back at their dormitories and have restarted their classes. Being the largest university in Bulgaria, the SAVES 2 team at UoS has a lot of work ahead to make sure that we reach as many students as possible.
We kicked off the SSO campaign with regular Facebook posts with tips and trick on how to save energy without even thinking about it. All students living in dormitories received our monthly newsletter with valuable information on the SSO campaign, energy saving tips and an invite to join the UoS SAVES 2 team. The start of the SSO campaign was closely followed by the start of the SSO+ campaign which targeted students living in private accommodation. As this is the first year in which UoS is participating in the SSO+ campaign we sent out information on the campaign as well as interesting facts and tips on energy saving topics. First statistics show that we have already surpassed the reach and engagement of the previous year – just for one month we have reached over 500 students via Facebook alone compared to around 100 persons reached per month last year.
March is looking to be a quite busy month for us at UoS as quizzes and photo competitions are rolling out this month. The SAVES 2 team is eager to see how the students do in both competitions. Speaking of the SAVES 2 team, we have a new Dormitory coordinator joining us this month, whose first task will be to start organising the dorm visits and the end-year event for the winner in the energy saving competition.
