We can't believe it has already been 9 months since the SAVES 2 project started! It's been a very busy few months for everyone involved, with lots of exciting activities going on.
In particular, on the 18-19th of January 2018 a second face-to-face meeting took place of all the SAVES 2 project partners (NUS UK, Union of Students in Ireland, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, University of Cyprus, UNICA, University of Bucharest, University of Sofia, University of Athens, De Montfort University, Ecovisum and the Technical University of Crete), in Dublin, Ireland. The meeting was hosted by Union of Students in Ireland and focused on looking back at the first 9 months of the project; reviewing what worked well, what was challenging, and what could have been done differently. The meeting also focused on the next 6 months of the project; what project partners should expect, and what could be potential challenges.
The highlight of the meeting for many was sharing experiences and best practice in terms of delivery of the Student Switch Off/Student Switch Off+ campaigns, in addition to developing ideas on how to improve the online energy dashboard being developed by Ecovisum, in collaboration with DMU. After the end of the meeting, we all wrapped up warm and braved the cold weather to go on a short walking tour of Dublin; USI gave the SAVES 2 project partners a very interesting and insighful tour of city's main sites (in particular focusing on the history of the Republic of Ireland).
All SAVES 2 project partners agreed that the meeting went very well (one of the best so far!) with some very fruitful discussions taking place. The enthusiasm and support for the project was really felt in the room, and we look forward to dicussing the impact the first year of the project would have had when we next meet again in June (this time in Bucharest, Romania)!.
